In our first planning session, our group started planning ideas for our film opening that we could use. This involved discussing the genre, themes and plot of the film opening, and noting down ideas for each. We then made these notes into a mind map:

- We decided to go with the theme of Psychological Thrillers for our film opening, drawing inspiration from the Sci-Fi/Techno Thriller and Conspiracy Thriller subgenres (similar to films such as Inception or The Matrix).
- We had the idea to include the theme of computer hackers and hacking. We decided on different directions we could take this idea, such as the concept of real-life hackers - people who can modify reality - or a secret organization of hackers.
